Rahul Biruly is a cinematographer based in Los Angeles who was born and brought up in India. He grew up in the cosmopolitan and picturesque township of Jamshedpur, a modern industrial town with a charming diverse culture, often seen holding the numerous festivals it celebrates throughout the year. Growing up and attending various town club's weekend film screenings which were projected on celluloid introduced him to the colors of cinema. Rahul had always been fascinated and often awestruck by the grandeur of watching films on a silver screen. Masterclasses from FTII alumni, noted and leading Cinematographers from the Indian film industry like Piyush Shah, Setu, Rajiv Ravi, Avijit Mukul Kishore, Alphonse Roy, to name a few, had played a pivotal role in shaping up his cinematography skills, techniques and vision.

After his course completion he migrated to the US in October of 2018 and later he relocated and settle in Los Angels in July 2019. During this time he had an opportunity to enroll himself to an intense advanced workshop for professional cinematographers in LA organized by Global  Institute of Cinematography, founded by Yuri Neyman, Asc and his late Hungarian Cinematographer colleague Vilmos Zsigmond, Asc. He has now the experience of three feature projects under his belt, with various other shorts.
